So many sparkley things
Phew. So the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival has come and gone and I am exhausted, and compared to some people I had it easy.(I was only in three events, a musical, a fashion show and the best of Taboo Revue) To mark the end of the festival there was the fabulous Red Carpet Gala, in which everyone got dressed up all fancy and awards were given out. I wound up being a sweeper for the evening which was both good and bad, good because I got to talk to some of the out of town performers but bad because I was wearing very high heels and boy were my feet sore the next day. After the award ceremony we all went back to The Dollhouse and partied till morning, it was the most fun I've had in quite some time. The DJ was wicked, playing mostly oldies and rockabilly with a few 80's hits. Needless to say I crept home very sweaty and covered in glitter.
:)

Now it's time to rest, work my regular work and hopefully get back into my own art. I've got a few things planned such as a few posters for the Screaming Chickens, Horror Movie Monster pin-up girls, and B-Movie Burlesque post cards.
Neato completo yip yayeee.

As do I, I tried really hard to make it out to Diamond Minx's show but between work and practice I just couldn't. :( I heard you were fabulous though.
Yeah the Red Carpet show was great, I just wish it had been a little cooler in Pat's Pub. I dunno about you but I was sweating to death.

sounds like all manner of awesomeness was had! poor feet though, you ladies sure put them through hell (i'd offer to massage them back to life but i'd need arms several thousand miles long. which would just be impractical really.).

love the sound of your projects, can't wait to see the results! i myself have largely been finding a new route to madness through science and mathematics, go me! :D

Dude if you had arms that were several thousand miles long that would be FREAKY. I would just be sitting here at work and suddenly your hand would come in through the window with a cup of tea for me....
Hrm actually that sounds kind of cool.

I noticed your math art, it's looking pretty funky there. My mom is still expecting a painting from you by the way....:)

Ha! a new type of super hero- a mysterious stranger with arms thousands of miles long, bringing tea to those who need it most! ;)

I noticed your math art, it's looking pretty funky there

Thanks! I've been trawling teh interwebz for videos on fractals and obscure mathematics, realy interesting stuff, and educational too! Infact by the time i paint your mum a picture it'll probably incorporate nth dimensional entities, and embody the mysteries of the cosmos.

Christ, i think i might be turning into a lovecraftian protagonist, i'm sure i can hear the piping already.....

Unfortunately "Mr. T" is already taken, that would have been awesome.

Tea-Man? (i like the idea of peole pointing out of the window at work exclaiming "The Tea-Man commeth!", also the play on He-Man, because i'm all huge rippling muscle and whiny of nature)

Tea Master General? "Fear not your lack of hydration, i have a wide variety of tea's, both traditional and herbal, to slake this monster thirst!"

i challenge you to come up with better!

Fractals in a horror movie?! damn, i'm gonna have to hunt that one down now...
