smile pretty!
Yesterday I had my very first photo shoot with the one and only Shimona Henry, and holy crap was it ever fun! Mom was ever so sweet and gave me a ride into White Rock for it and while her and Mandy walked around town I got to pose and act like a dork for about 5 hours. The result is going to be a cd of about 15 touched up photos for me to cherish, and cherish I will because Shimona is amazing! If you don't believe me then check out the 'portfolio' section on her website and you'll get an idea of what the shoot was like.

Friday was the NEW Taboo Revue at the Wise Hall and according to the crowd it was our best one yet: we had songs about masturbation, anal sex, dancing geishas, a giant group number, a banana circle jerk and of course my beach party creature number. The pictures from the show are fabulous and really catch the energy of it all, both on stage and behind.
I'm already looking forward to January's show.
:)

Now in the middle of all this fun and merriment I had to take a small trip to the hospital to see my ear doctor about what they're going to do about my right ear, after many tests and talks it turns out I'll have to have surgery in February. It's same day surgery but it's still kind of freaky as they will be cutting open my head and drilling part of my bone to clear the area, the risks included are death (anytime they use a general anaesthesia they tell you there's a chance you could die during it), total loss of hearing in that ear, and having half my face paralyzed.
Wheeee.
I'm going to try and not worry about these risks too much as they are pretty slim, I'm sure I'll freak out right before the surgery but we'll deal with that when the time comes right?
Right.

good to see you're being productive with your time off ;p her portfolio does look good though, i bet the shoot was a blast!

as for getting your head cut open and bone drilled, well that sounds less than fun. :( all i can offer is: having been under the knife a few times myself, and having had unpleasant things done to me without anesthetic, i much prefer the slight risk of death and being unconscious. plus they've never killed me once!

that probably isn't as comforting as i think it is...

Hah yeah well it was my long awaited birthday present to myself so....XP

And thank you man, it is sort of comforting to hear from other people who have been cut open and survived.
PS: I almost didn't realize it was you because of the icon change haha

yeah, i'm being proper ninja and commenting in disguise ;)

what i should have posted was that my friend [info]sheeopquay actually works as the person who sits there in theater making sure that the patient is unconscious and fully comfortable. she assures me that the warning is more a leftover from less sophisticated times, and there largely to keep the hospitals lawyers from having heart attacks every time someone goes under.
